Easy and Quick Cleaning Tips

We all want our houses to be spotless but we don’t really want to spend hours and hours cleaning them. Luckily, there are people that think about us and they have provided us with the simplest tricks for effective and quick cleaning. These tricks are effective, easy and less time-consuming but the results are amazing.

Tackle the kitchen

To clean this room effectively, you will need to start on the right side of the oven and work your way around clockwise. The oven is usually the dirtiest appliance of all and should be cleaned last so you don’t spread dirt everywhere. While you are cleaning the kitchen, you can prepare the oven by soaking the top with a cleaning solution so by the time you get to it, the dirt and grime would have loosened and you can just wipe it off.

Tackle the sink

Many of you won’t believe this but the kitchen sink collects a lot more bacteria than the toilet seat! That is why you should regularly clean it to prevent the buildup of germs. To start disinfecting you will have to clean the sink with hot water and soap first. Then spray vinegar and hydrogen peroxide and allow them to dry naturally. Make sure you don’t mix the two and spray them separately. If you have a stainless steel sink, you can make it sparkle by using mineral oil. Put it on a soft cloth and buff. This will prevent any water from building up and causing mold.

Wash the dishwasher

Once a week wipe the edges of the machine with baking soda to remove any stains or food. In order to clean the inside, you will have to run an empty cycle with special cleaning solution. During the season of flu and cold, you can add ¼ cup of bleach to kill the bacteria. This is added to the regular cycle and will sanitize the dishes perfectly.

The disposal

The disposals are great for getting rid of left over peels and fruit. However, you need to often clean them to remove any smells. In order to do that, drop in ice cubes, some salt and a chopped lemon. The lemon will deodorize and the salt and ice will clean any residue. You can also use special disposal cleaners.

Get rid of the paper towels

Get rid of the paper towels and save the environment! You can use microfiber cloths that would do a much better job. When you wet the microfiber cloth you will be able to perfectly clean tiles, glass, counters and even floors. Microfiber cloths are also much cheaper than paper towels.
In order to always have a clean kitchen you will also have to clean as you go. This will save you a lot of time and efforts in the long run. For example: fill the sink with soapy water and soak the dishes. This way it will be much easier to wash them afterwards. You should also clean your sponge regularly as sponges can breed a lot of bacteria. You can easily disinfect yours every night after you have done the washing up. Zap it in the microwave for a minute on the highest setting. Make sure that you throw the sponge away as soon as it becomes smelly.

These easy tricks will keep your kitchen clean and bacteria free at all times. They take so little time but are so effective.
